Isabella County

Although Isabella County is a strong agricultural county. Isabella County is home to Central Michigan  University, long known as “the teachers college.” Today it is also known for its fine research center and just newly approved medical school. Within the boundaries of Isabella County, another nation exists – the reservation of the sovereign Saginaw- Chippewa Tribe of Michigan. It’s Soaring Eagle Casino and Conference Center sports a large hotel and restaurants and regularly brings in nationally known stars for its floor shows. A large “industry” has grown up around the casino. US-27 runs north and south, while M-20 cuts across east to west.
