EMCOG offers a range of planning services that is available to the members in our fourteen county region. Local units of government can become members of EMCOG and are eligible to receive our services at the lower membership rate. Our staff has assisted communities with the preparation/updating of Master Plans, Zoning Ordinances, or Recreation Plans. Included in these services are assisting communities with plan and ordinance preparation, and planning support to the Planning Commission, Zoning Board of Appeals, or the local governing body.
We have also assisted with the updating of Hazard Mitigation plans for several of our communities and staff is currently working on the completion of a Community Wildfire Protection plan.
Staff is also able to assist communities with MEDC’s Redevelopment Ready Communities Program and is willing to act as a conduit with MEDC for any community interested in applying for the Program or applying best practice methods to better assist in attracting quality developments.
